LIFE SKILLS
Developmental therapy training and support is provided to individuals to increase living skills. Services include: counseling, money management, meal preparation, personal hygiene, social interaction, anger management, home safety, community awareness, housekeeping, communication, social skills development, functional reading, writing, and math, personal safety awareness, public transportation use, and access to other community resources. Services are provided in an individual’s home, at our main site, or in the community.
MENTAL HEALTH
Services are designed to increase independence and empower consumers with a mental illness to reach their goals. These services assist and teach individuals to identify their symptoms and manage them effectively in all aspects of daily living. Services include: Psychiatric Medication Management, Counseling and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Services which focus on independent living skills, social skills, time management, anger management, effective communication, money management, anxiety reduction, conflict resolution, pre-employment skills, health/nutrition education, and crisis support. Services can be provided in home and/or community based settings.
Residential Care settings within the community offer supportive services. The Celany and Hettinger homes provide social/recreational opportunities, living skills support, health management, and twenty-four hour supervision.
ASSISTED LIVING
The Arc assists in determining strengths, needs, job interests, and job matches for a variety of careers in employment. Individuals may select: Interviewing Skills, Job Seeking and Keeping Skills, Community Based Work Evaluations, Community Based Work Adjustment, and Personal Computer Training. Qualified Arc staff assist in job development, placement, job training, and follow up services.

Work and Business Services
Production-based work includes: packaging, assembly, and paper contracts. Work can be completed at our main site or we can bring a supervised work group of six to eight individuals to your site. Labor costs, liability insurance, employee benefits, and Worker’s Comp coverage are provided by The Arc. Work is secured through a competitive bidding process. One hundred percent quality control is guaranteed. Prevocational activities and work training are provided for persons with disabilities preparing to enter the competitive labor market.
Community Supported Employment (CSE)
Long-term job training and supports are provided to an individual in a community business placement or in an enclave setting (supervised work crews of six – eight people). An Arc job coach accompanies the worker to or visits the job site on a regular basis.
RECREATION

Recreation and leisure opportunities enhance each person’s quality of life, including sports, travel, dances, and special events. Vacation packages offer small, integrated travel opportunities at affordable rates. Activities range from vacation trips, rafting, and horseback riding, to enjoying city nightlife, train rides, Boise River float trips, Shakespeare nights, bingo, and biking on the Greenbelt.
