RECREATION AND VACATION EXPERIENCES (R.A.V.E.)
R.A.V.E. offers year-round recreation and social opportunities for people with disabilities. Individual interests are considered when programs are designed, ranging from classes in the arts, bike riding, rafting, to sightseeing or parties. Vacation packages are also available, offering flexible yet structured, small group excursions. Dream vacation destinations vary from mountain camping to Las Vegas weekends. Ongoing fundraising efforts and volunteer support provides this program with scholarships to assist individuals in pursing a fulfilling leisure lifestyle.
VACATIONS
All vacations include
· 24 hour leadership at a 1:3 to 1:4 ratio
· Small groups of 6-9 vacationers
· All meals; menu and restaurant choice
· All trip leaders are experienced human service professionals
· Assistance with budgeting money and medications if requested
· All accommodations, transportation, entry fees, taxes and gratuities
· Leaders dedicated to making this your dream vacation
ADVENTURE DAYS
Adventure Day activities are offered year round and range from whitewater rafting and scenic train rides to a day at the water park or attending a local event. R.A.V.E. also sponsors art classes, walking clubs, BINGO and pizza nights, dances and seasonal events all year long!
Who Can Participate?
You do not need to receive services from The Arc in order to join in R.A.V.E. fun! Anyone who enjoys meeting new people, is able to adjust to new routines and environments with a relatively short period of time, are able to attend to personal care needs and able to function in a small group setting are welcome to join activities.
How Do I Sign Up?
You must complete a R.A.V.E. assessment, prior to participating in any activity.  With this information, R.A.V.E. will assist in identifying activities that will meet your interest and provide the supports needed for a fun and safe experience.  To receive information on upcoming R.A.V.E. Adventures and Vacations, you may request to be on the RAVE mailing list. You can receive information via the internet or through the mail.
Financial Assistance
Scholarships are available for all R.A.V.E. activities and vacations. Spend down accounts and payment plans are also available.
Who Are The Leaders?
All R.A.V.E. activities and vacations are lead by Arc staff volunteers. Our leaders are committed to fostering individual choice and self expression, while building new friendships and having a safe and fun experience.
Volunteers And Fundraising
The R.A.V.E. program is supported through volunteers and community support. Fundraisers throughout the year provide funding to purchase supplies and to support a scholarship program. Annual fundraisers include a spring pancake breakfast, fall chili feed and Entertainment Book sales. Volunteers are needed for fundraising as well as activities and events.
